In anticipation of proposed annexations and future growth by the City of Columbus, the Far West Side Area Commission will vote to amend our Bylaws to expand our western boundary. The Far West Side Area Commission is an advisory body to the City of Columbus and this expansion does not affect unincorporated areas of Brown or Prairie Township, but only allows the Commission a voice should any of these areas become incorporated into the City of Columbus via the annexation process. In accordance with Article X of our Bylaws, a first reading will take place at the regular meeting on August 25, 2026 with second reading and vote on September 22, 2026.
Proposed Bylaw amendment: Article II, description of western boundary:
The Hamilton Run Centerline of Amity Road north of Norfolk Southern Railroad to Roberts Feder Road. Continuing east along the centerline of Feder Road to Jones Road. Continuing north along the centerline of Jones Road to Walker Road. Continuing northwest along the centerline of Walker Road to the northern terminus of Roberts Road. Continuing east along the centerline of Roberts Road / Old Roberts Road to a point where, if extended, Old Roberts Road would intersect with Alton Darby Creek Road. Continuing along the centerline of Alton Darby Creek Road to Columbus corporation limits at a point approximately ¼ mile north of Pinefield Drive. Exclusive of incorporated Hilliard City sections within this area: Anderson Meadows, Hilliard Summit, and two elementary schools.
